The truth is, I'm a nerd.

Hi, and welcome! My name is Jake, I'm based in the North East United States and it's true, deep down I'm kind of a big nerd.
I love hiking and adventures of all shapes and sizes...I've been a river guide on Class 5 water, a Zipline Tour Guide in Alaska, and I've been hiking in over 7 countries around the world!

But my little secret is that, at heart, I'm an analyst. When my friends are trying to find the best products out there, they ask me... that's why I made this blog.

Is to help you be comfortable outside

All my life, I've loved being outside. And, as you can tell from my previous jobs, I find great joy in helping other people experience the outdoors. When I have the opportunity to take someone on a hike, bike or paddle, they almost always ask me about gear. Although they aren't the only important pieces of gear, your boots are your roots ... and you gotta start with a strong foundation!

So, I'm here to help you find the best boots and shoes available so everyone can get out to hike, bike, and paddle ... and be comfortable doing it!
